AnaMar's Competitive Advantages |
Development of novel compounds targeting G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) |
| Unique, new targets are explored for the treatment of arthritic conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA), including inflammatory pain. In collaboration with a skilled medicinal chemistry partner, novel compounds have successfully been synthesized and brought into development. |
A unique focus and competence in the area of cartilage biology and biochemistry |
| The unique and well established collaboration, between the University of Lund and AnaMar, in the field of cartilage biology continuously generates new ideas for therapy as well as for how to diagnose and prognosticate the progress of arthritic diseases via biomarkers. |
An evaluation process that predicts clinical efficacy |
| New compounds are screened in primary cells (e.g. synovial fibroblasts and macrophages) and tissue cultures (e.g. cartilage explants) for their ability to suppress pro-inflammatory cytokine production. Promising compounds are further characterized in different disease models. |
