Project DAR

The target receptor, adenosineA2a, plays a critical role in the physiologic immunosuppressive pathway that protects normal tissues from damage by overactive immune cells and their pro-inflammatory cytokines. AnaMar is developing agonists to the receptor for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA). We have found that binding of agonists influences signal transduction pathways that modulate inflammatory responses.

Therapeutic area:

Rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory diseases

Stage of development:

Mechanism of action:

Binding of agonists to the receptor influences signal transduction pathways that modulate
inflammatory responses.

Competitive advantages:

  • Modulation of several cytokine pathways, inhibiting multiple pro-inflammatory mediators
  • Unique approach for RA and OA treatment
  • Small molecules
  • Strong intellectual property
